| | Eletrobras has developed the Brazilian Hydroelectric Potential Information System (SIPOT) with the purpose of storing and processing information on hydroelectric studies and projects. The development of hydroelectric studies, that is, the additional studies in inventory phases, feasibility and basic project enabled the identification of current economic, environmental and technical restrictions, which, most of the times, reduce the estimated potential. SIPOT is constantly updated with study information, when approved by Aneel and available to the public, or with information from Eletrobras companies or Ministry of Mines and Energy.
